Abyssal Sovereign: The Demon's Dominion

Chapter 142 Lovers/Enemies

"Let's go then, attack," Su Yiren said indifferently, her expression growing colder.

Su Bal smiled. "In this world, I will be the villain. This is my second life, and in the last, she ended up with one demonic cultivator called Kai. ...,su bal thought with a sigh

"All my support, everything I gave my sacrifices all went down the drain. She took advantage of me until there was nothing left," Su Bal thought angrily.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

To make matters worse, he remembered her stabbing the one she loved and killing him—reasons unknown to him, though he didn't care after all he was empty then. He lost his cultivation and became an ordinary mortal left to die.

"It seems even the so-called senior brother is seeking his junior sister's downfall," Su Yiren said, her expression almost icy.

"Ha. I heard you were with a male named Kai. Now you call me senior brother after our engagement?" Su Bal said indifferently.

Villains aren't born but made.

Su Yiren frowned. "Yes, we were in an agreement to marry later, but that was in my last life before reincarnation. I died, and so did you, same with that promise and agreement," Su Yiren said, her words shocking everyone. Even the second uncle's expression changed.

The elders were stunned and slightly angry. Su Bal was as talented as her, if not more. He had a bright future, and they had hoped the Su family's members would remain united. But with what they had just heard—and Su Yiren's unchanged expression—they realized it was true. She had loved someone from another family.

"Sigh. I understand, Su Bal," Su Yiren suddenly said, her eyes fluttering beautifully.

Why did she change her mind? It all became clear when she was dying—the way she stabbed Muchen back then, seeing Su Bal smiling foolishly and killing everyone who came close in happiness that she won the better.

She saw a boy who had fallen in love with a girl, a boy who would give anything for her. And then she realized she couldn't bring herself to love him as much as he did her.

He was obsessed with her, and she—did she even love him? That was when she was reborn into a mortal family and saw her mortal parents. The way they cared for each other made her heart ache. She realized she would only make Su Bal suffer.

What was the point of the agreement? Su Bal should move on. She didn't love him as much as he loved her. She didn't even know how to love, not until she met Kai—a cold boy who melted her heart. Strangely, the boy was so caring towards her even when he was cold to others. Maybe it was because of the way his mom cared for her or it was because it was doing it for her , maybe he only see her as his sister but his gaze made everything different , it made her heart pound in fear and anxiousness, it felt hee up.with joy and happiness . That was when she realized she was in love.

Maybe it was because of her weak self, or maybe it was because she finally understood what love was. Either way, she fell for him.

"You don't understand the pain I went through," Su Bal said. Su Yiren probably thought he only died and reincarnated like her, but no—he had experienced it all before and his death in the immortal world and reincarnation into the mortal one made his memories returned.

"I understand, Su Bal," Su Yiren said as she walked up to him. The two stood face-to-face, Su Yiren looking up at Su Bal.

"What do you understand?" Su Bal laughed suddenly and asked.

"I understand love, and I have come to realize..." Su Yiren paused, looking down at the ground. The elders and other geniuses watched in silence.

"I don't love you, and I can't give you the same commitment you want. I... I can't be obsessed with you the same way you are with me," Su Yiren said, dropping the bombshell.

"Hm, you love that Kai boy?" Su Bal ignored everything else and asked the one question on his mind.

"I..." Su Yiren paused. Her cold and indifferent expression shifted, revealing the emotions rushing through her.

"I do," Su Yiren finally answered, clenching her fists.

"She—why would she?"

"I hate to be Senior Brother Su Bal."

"This is just cruel, after everything..."

"I was there when she died. Senior Brother Su Bal went crazy, killing members of the Chen clan left and right. He almost became a demon for her."

"Ah, love is both pain and happiness..."

Murmurs echoed through the room, but the elders remained silent. They couldn't interfere—after all, Su Yiren was clearly in the wrong.

Suddenly, Su Yiren felt an emotion she didn't even know existed: shame. Her face burned.

"Fine. From now on, Father, that agreement with her father is void. I and she have nothing to do with each other anymore. Everything I've done or given to her—" Su Bal began, but Su Yiren interrupted by bringing out a ring.

"Inside is everything you've given me, and more," Su Yiren said, meeting Su Bal's indifferent gaze.

Su Bal accepted the ring with a smile. "Now, I and you have nothing between us," he said calmly.

In those eyes, Su Yiren saw flashes of memories:

"Hey, Su Yiren, I brought this immortal beast for you."

"Su Yiren, you might be sick. I got these clothes for you."

"Su Yiren, just say the word, and I'll destroy the world for you."

"Hey, Su Yiren, don't fly on that sword! Su Yiren!"

Moments of them laughing and smiling together flooded her mind.

A tear slipped from her eye, but Su Bal's calm gaze didn't waver.

"Can we start now? If I win, I get to be the leader of the Su clan," Su Bal said indifferently.

Su Yiren opened her mouth to say something but stayed silent.

"It's better this way. First, I lost Dad, and now Su Bal—a friend," Su Yiren thought, shaking her head. She wiped her tears away.

"Agreed," Su Yiren said, smiling as she unsheathed her sword.

Its icy blue glow and sharpness radiated a chilling aura. This was her partner, her companion—an immortal king weapon.

Su Bal drew a white sword with a calm aura. At first glance, it seemed ordinary, but the longer one looked, the more mysterious it became.

"Without further ado, begin," the second uncle announced. His face brimmed with satisfaction as he watched his son challenge the daughter of the clan master to a duel.

The other elders sat calmly in their seats, observing the scene. Although they had accepted Su Yiren as the future clan master solely because she was the offspring of the current leader, their true preference lay elsewhere. Now, the person they had long hoped for, the one they intended to nurture and train, had finally stepped forward, earning their full support.

As the order to start was given, the two combatants stood motionless, their gazes locked. Time seemed to pause as their eyes met. The chiming of swords echoed through the hall, their auras at the peak of the immortal realm clashing in an invisible storm.

Su Bal's robes fluttered in the sudden, eerie wind, while Su Yiren's unbound hair flowed freely. The once-lovers now stood as bitter enemies.

Boom… Chime…

A deafening sound filled the air as the swords of the disciples watching began to resonate. The two combatants had clashed, and the sheer force of their collision compressed the air, unleashing a shockwave that sent the onlookers stumbling backward.

"He's stronger now," Su Yiren thought, steeling herself for the next attack.

"Still the same," Su Bal mused as he launched another strike.

With precise speed, Su Bal pointed his sword forward and appeared in front of Su Yiren in an instant, aiming directly for her neck. Su Yiren, caught off guard, managed only a slight turn of her head to avoid a fatal blow. The speed of su bal was too much for a peak immortal realm expert like su yiren.

Silence enveloped the hall as the disciples stared in disbelief. They had anticipated a long, intense battle between the two strongest younger members of the Su Clan. Yet, after the first exchange, the fight was over.

"The winner, Su Bal," the second uncle declared, his face radiant as he descended to stand beside his son.

Thud.

A body fell to the ground, and the murmurs began.

"Help her!"

"She's bleeding!"

"Her neck—it's been cut!"

The murmurs turned into frantic shouts as Su Yiren felt her vision blur. The once-clear hall faded into a haze, and her sense of hearing diminished. Weakness consumed her, and a deep desire to sleep overcame her. She knew that succumbing to sleep might mean her death, but she felt no regret.

"Am I going to die?" she wondered. So, this is what death feels like. I feel cold… so lonely. Father, I'm coming to see you… My only regret is not meeting Kai again…"

Her thoughts drifted away as she closed her eyes.

************

Su Yiren's eyes fluttered open, revealing a familiar setting. She was in her room. Groaning, she sat up and looked around. The room was empty—no maids, no disciples, no elders. Only silence greeted her.

"Father…" Su Yiren whispered as she gazed toward the door.

A red curtain hung between her bed and the rest of the room. Tentatively, she raised a hand to her neck. To her surprise, there was no scar, no wound, not even a faint line to indicate the injury.

She wasn't entirely surprised. As an immortal realm cultivator in the legendary Su Clan, her regeneration was extraordinary. Furthermore, the clan possessed resources capable of healing even severe injuries within a day or less.

However, the mystery lay in Su Bal's attack. She didn't understand what technique he had used, but it had left her feeling as though her cultivation had vanished, reducing her to an ordinary mortal girl.

Shaking her head, Su Yiren struggled to stand. Weakness overwhelmed her, and her legs nearly gave out beneath her weight. Clenching her teeth, she took a shaky step forward, determined to walk despite the odds.

Her legs trembled with every movement, but she pressed on. Finally, after several grueling moments, she reached the door and opened it.

Click.

The door creaked open, and Su Yiren's pupils dilated in shock.

"Hello…"
