Abyssal Sovereign: The Demon's Dominion

Chapter 141 Sacrifice

Daoist TM and Fire Blade arrived at the location of the event, only to find nothing. A vast expanse of land was missing, as if it had been devoured by something terrible.

Daoist TM frowned at the scene before him.

"They devour anything that is matter, and given enough time, even this world will be consumed," Fire Blade explained.

With a sigh, Daoist TM glanced at the elders and disciples of his sect. He was no longer certain if they would all return with him.

The closer they got to the Nine-Tailed Fox Divine Clan, the more severe the damage to the world became, until entire stretches of land completely disappeared.

Thanks to the flying boat they were aboard, they were able to travel over the desolation conveniently.

After several hours of flying, they finally arrived at their destination and were shocked by the sight before them. Only a single large piece of land remained, on which the entire Nine-Tailed Fox Divine Clan struggled for survival.

The SEIDES were pouring out from a crack in the sky, attacking relentlessly.

"Daoist TM!" Foxy Tail shouted in relief upon spotting him, her voice filled with hope.

"Let's go," Daoist TM commanded his disciples. They leaped from the flying boat, and those capable of flight rose into the air to confront the SEIDES.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

These pale, white beings were everywhere, devouring everything in sight, from land to air.

Fire Blade frowned as Daoist TM's disciples clashed with the SEIDES.

It was a massacre. The disciples were slaughtered and devoured, their screams and wails echoing across the battlefield.

Daoist TM charged into the fray, his sword carving a massive breach in the enemy line, giving his disciples a brief moment to breathe. In the chaos, he appeared beside Foxy Tail.

"How could this have happened?" Daoist TM asked, shocked.

Foxy Tail's heart ached as she struggled to answer.

"I don't know how they did it, but one of them disguised themselves as you. I was a fool—I brought him here to meet my mother," she paused, tears streaming down her face.

"My mother was assassinated that night," Foxy Tail choked out, rage consuming her.

Daoist TM frowned but understood. Foxy Tail was a carefree person, ruled by her emotions. She couldn't have imagined someone would impersonate him, let alone fool her. She had taken the impostor to meet her mother because she thought it was necessary.

Though unexpected, what had happened could not be undone. Dwelling on it served no purpose.

He sympathized with her pain. After so many years, she had developed deep feelings for her mother, who had provided her with comfort and care.

One of the most dangerous traits of the SEIDES was their ability to mimic members of any race on a particular planet.

The idea that they could become someone's closest friend—or even a parent—was terrifying and dangerous.

"It's fine," Daoist TM said, attempting to comfort her.

Meanwhile, Fire Blade led the army, coordinating their efforts. Under his command, the fox clan and Daoist TM's disciples worked together, eventually turning the tide of the battle.

Initially, there was resistance to being led by a mythical creature like a dragon. How could a four-limbed being command two-limbed fighters? Moreover, while all dragons could fly, not all foxes and disciples could.

However, their doubts were shattered as Fire Blade led them to victory.

They pushed the SEIDES back, leaving a massive pile of white corpses in their wake. The battle gradually became easier.

Daoist TM and Foxy Tail joined the fray, their immense strength securing victory for their side.

"Is it over?" Foxy Tail asked. The battle had hardened her, replacing her usual playful smile with a nearly indifferent expression.

Daoist TM had grown more like an old cultivator, exuding a terrifying aura. During the battle, he had broken through to the peak of Rank 2, standing equal to Fire Blade in power.

"It's just beginning," Fire Blade said as the world shook violently.

The tiny crack in the sky expanded rapidly, and stronger SEIDES emerged.

"What? Fire Blade, don't tell me this is a main branch," Daoist TM exclaimed in shock.

"It isn't, but it's a strong side branch," Fire Blade replied, his expression grim as a terrifying aura filled the battlefield.

A slightly taller, more muscular SEIDES appeared, its overwhelming presence silencing everyone, including Foxy Tail.

"H-how strong is this creature?" Foxy Tail stammered as the very fabric of space seemed to harden and compress.

"Peak," Fire Blade answered as his own aura erupted in response.

With a deafening boom, the two auras clashed and canceled each other out. Fire Blade opened his mouth, releasing a torrent of fire.

The temperature soared as a thick, fiery blast, at least one hundred meters in diameter, obliterated everything in its path. The SEIDES at the forefront raised its arms to block the attack, while others disintegrated instantly.

The SEIDES countered with a cross-shaped purple slash that collided head-on with Fire Blade's assault.

The resulting explosion sent shockwaves across the battlefield, pushing back everything except Fire Blade, the SEIDES, and Daoist TM.

The impact tore the sky apart, revealing a darker, more sinister dimension.

A chill swept through the battlefield as another SEIDES, identical to the first, emerged.

Fire Blade frowned. He had only anticipated one peak Rank 2 SEIDES, but the situation worsened as two more appeared.

"Sigh, the worst I feared has happened. This is an important branch," Fire Blade said solemnly as Daoist TM trembled with anger.

"These beings came to this world, destroyed everything, and now seek to erase my disciples and this world entirely," Daoist TM said, glaring at the void beneath him.

"My ego won't take that, my pride as a cultivator won't take that. What is the purpose of cultivating? Isn't it to go against heaven itself? Isn't it to grow stronger and have a longer lifespan?" Daoist TM said as his aura flared up. The space rifts around him spread out, and his aura drowned out the presence of the four others.

"I don't know how many worlds you have conquered or how many planets you have devoured, but I know this: this will be the last time you ever think of coming to a cultivation world," Daoist TM declared, raising his head.

His pupils turned white, void of any detail, as a grin slowly formed on his face.

"What is wrong? Is this an inner demon? Tch... I don't know much about cultivation stuff," Fire Blade thought as he observed Daoist TM's spiking aura.

"No... I hope he isn't using a secret skill to burn his potential," Foxy Tail thought with fear.

"Daoist TM, no! Don't you dare!" Foxy Tail shouted, but she couldn't reach him in time.

"Hm..." Fire Blade glanced at Foxy Tail, his eyes narrowing as he realized the danger.

"Daoist TM, don't!" Fire Blade shouted, but it was too late.

"Protect her, Fire Blade," Daoist TM said with a faint smile.

His aura burst forth, reaching the level of Quasi-Rank 3.

"So this is the strength... Though just this experience will make me confident of breaking through to Quasi-Rank 3 in the future. Too bad it won't matter now—all my potential is gone," Daoist TM said with a smile before disappearing.

Slash...

The crack in the sky vanished as silence reigned. It felt like sound itself had been severed. Seconds later, a gentle wind blew as the SEIDES turned to ash.

"It is done," Daoist TM murmured, smiling as blood trickled from his nose, ears, and mouth.

"Daoist TM!" Foxy Tail screamed as she watched his body falling.

At the Immortal Su Clan

Su Yiren sat on the throne, frowning. Beside her stood the elders of the Su Clan, while below, the clan's geniuses knelt before her.

"Since you are all here, I will get straight to the point. You should already know the reason for this gathering," Su Yiren said indifferently, her gaze scanning the crowd.

Several geniuses scoffed and avoided eye contact, making Su Yiren smile coldly.

"Do you have something to say?" Su Yiren asked, but the hall remained silent.

"Elders, I am no longer the Clan Leader of the Su Clan. Anything said or done to me will be accepted, even if it leads to my death," Su Yiren suddenly declared as she stood, causing gasps to echo through the hall.

The elders looked on in confusion and fear. What did she mean?

"Clan Master—" one elder began, but meeting Su Yiren's cold glare, the elder promptly fell silent.

"Second Uncle, that's enough. From now on, I am no longer the Clan Master of the Su Clan. That position belongs to you," Su Yiren said, turning to face the crowd.

"If anyone has complaints, speak now," she added with a chilling smile.

The geniuses exchanged solemn glances but said nothing.

"Well, since you're all too afraid to speak, I will," a male voice called out as a young man dressed in white stepped forward.

"Subal, stand down," came the stern voice of Su Yiren's Second Uncle.

Though he said this, it was evident to everyone that he didn't mean it.

"So, it seems my position as Clan Master was always temporary. Many are dissatisfied with me. Perhaps even my father's death is related to them," Su Yiren thought, her expression turning cold.
