Chapter 143 Ruin opening 1
Su Yiren's pupils dilated as her mind went blank from what she saw.
Standing in front of her was the person who had almost killed her—Su Bal.
"Hello," Su Bal said with a slight smile.
Su Yiren was shocked by this, her mind racing and searching for an answer. "Why is he here? What does he want?" Su Yiren asked herself as she swallowed hard.
"W-What are you doing here?" Su Yiren asked, confused. She had almost died at his hands, yet upon waking, she found him standing right at her door.
"Oh, that. Well, I'm the new head of the Su family or something. But I'm not interested in leading this family, so I'm giving the position back to you. The whole point of the duel was just to satisfy my curiosity about your strength, which, by the way..." Su Bal paused slightly.
"...is not as great as it is claimed to be," Su Bal said, smirking as Su Yiren frowned.
From this statement, she gathered a few things. First, Su Bal was ridiculing her. Second, he was returning the position of clan master to her. And third, he had only fought her to test or possibly kill her.
"If that's all you wanted to say, then you can leave since you're done," Su Yiren said coldly.
"I will, but my advice: stick close to that boyfriend of yours. He's the only one who can save you," Su Bal said before turning around and disappearing in a few strides, leaving Su Yiren without a chance to respond.
Staring at the empty space in front of her, Su Yiren closed her open mouth and pondered his words.
What exactly did Su Bal mean by telling me to hold on to Kai? Why? What is going to happen?
"I forgot—the ruin is going to open today," Su Yiren thought as she closed the door. Her once-weak legs sprang to life as she rushed to her room to find clothes to wear.
"My lady, are you awake?" a thin female voice called from outside the door, causing Su Yiren to pause.
Opening the door, Su Yiren saw her maids standing there. "Hn, where did you all go?" Su Yiren asked.
"We were giving our lady and the lord their privacy," one of the maids answered.
"Never leave again," Su Yiren instructed.
"For anyone. If someone wants to talk to me, you are to remain present or at least stay outside. I didn't see any of you when I checked earlier," Su Yiren said, her tone firm as the maids knelt together.
"Yes, my lady," the maids replied in unison.
"Also, none of you could inform me or wake me up early? The ruin—when are they leaving?" Su Yiren asked. Although Su Bal had visited, what if he came merely to distract her while the Su clan members departed?
"To inform you, my lady, it is just the afternoon of the same day. You have only been unconscious for two hours," a maid replied, and Su Yiren let out a sigh of relief.
"Okay then, good. Return to your posts," Su Yiren commanded as the maids stood up and left.
Re-entering her room, Su Yiren collapsed onto her bed.
"My body is still too weak," Su Yiren murmured before drifting off to sleep.

The Immortal Chen Clan...
The day of the ruin's opening had finally arrived. Kai and Muchen stood side by side with the descendants. Of course, they weren't the strongest there.
Among the group was a select faction called the Sequence. They were ranked by codenames from Zero to Ten and were the main focus of the expedition. Sequence Zero, the leader, was a female wearing a plain face mask. She stood at the forefront of the elite disciples heading to the ruin.
Following behind her were the remaining Sequences.
In the open space outside, hundreds of Chen clan members were gathered.
At the forefront stood the elders of the Chen clan. Muchen's father was among them, wearing a radiant smile—his son had returned, along with many other geniuses. Read chapters at empire
"I'm glad you all are here," one elder began, stroking his beard. "You've battled and discovered your strengths and flaws. You've seen those stronger and weaker than yourselves. No matter what happens in that ruin, I want the members of the Chen clan to stand together. Protect one another."
With a wave of his hand, massive boats appeared all around them.
"Now, all of you, have a safe trip. Stay together, help one another, and bring back something tangible from the ruin," the elder said as the descendants of the Chen clan boarded the boats.
Suddenly, a figure appeared in the sky, and all the descendants bowed.
"We greet the Third Elder!" their unified chant echoed as the man smiled and descended. He was the Third Elder of the Chen clan and would serve as the protector for the young descendants. To qualify as an elder, one had to be at least in the Immortal Lord realm.
The Immortal Realm, Immortal God Realm, and Immortal Lord Realm each had nine stages or layers.
The boats tremble as they started moving. There were hundreds of boats, each spanning hundreds of meters—large enough to carry all the Chen clan descendants.
The Third Elder wasn't the only protector; several hidden figures concealed in the void accompanied the fleet.
Outside, in the city closest to the Immortal Chen Clan, cultivators watched the massive procession in awe. And it wasn't just here.
The Astral Clan, the Immortal Su Clan, the Immortal Guo Clan, the Immortal Yu Clan, the Immortal Fox Clan (Nine-Tailed Fox), and the Blood Clan—all were prepared.
In sects across the immortal realm, clans, saints, and their disciples were also on their way.
This marked the first meeting of enemies and allies alike after dying and reincarnating in the mortal realm.
*************
In a forest, known far and wide as the Immortal Beasts Forest, this was a place where various kinds of immortal beasts thrived. These beasts ranged from the most docile to the most aggressive and encompassed creatures of various ranks.
Deep within the forest, even Immortal King-level beasts could be found.
At this particular location, numerous loose cultivators could be seen mingling with disciples from small sects. Sect masters and ancestors were present, leaving stern warnings and words of advice to their most talented disciples.
Among the crowd, one figure stood out. He wasn't the one with the highest cultivation—at least, if he was, he wasn't flaunting it. Instead, he was eye-catching due to his striking appearance: a male with an unruly aura and an aesthetically pleasing demeanor.
This was Li Hai, the rising star of the immortal realm.
From humble beginnings in a common home within the mortal realm, he had risen step by step to this stage. From avenging his parents by killing their enemies to protecting his fellow disciples, Li Hai had made a name for himself.
He carried the reputation of his sect with unwavering justice and broke through ranks at a terrifying speed.
No one truly knew if he had reached the peak stage of the Immortal Realm or not. The last time he was seen in action was months ago when he killed a sixth-stage Immortal Realm beast that had just broken through and his rank then was the third stage of the immortal realm.
[Yes, this is the annoying cliché of crossing realms, but I'll limit it to just their realms]
"Junior Brother…" a soft voice interrupted as a young woman clung to Li Hai's arm.
At a glance, anyone would feel compelled to help her. She possessed a rare physique that evoked goodwill from both males and females, though its effect lessened against higher-ranked individuals.
This was one of the heroines of the world—Mo Chu.
She was the saint daughter of the Blooming Sword Sect. Her origins were shrouded in mystery, as no one knew who her family was. However, the sect master had declared that no one, absolutely no one, should cross her.
"Yes, Senior Sister," Li Hai replied, his face twitching slightly. The temptation she exuded was overwhelming for him. Her perfectly proportioned figure, melodious voice, and captivating physique made her allure nearly irresistible.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
She possessed the legendary Cloud Fairy Physique—an ancient and powerful attribute. Those with this physique had, at the very least, reached the Immortal God King Realm, with some achieving the Immortal Emperor Realm.
[For clarity, the realms are as follows: Immortal Realm, Immortal God Realm, Immortal Lord Realm, Immortal King Realm, Immortal God King Realm, Immortal Sovereign Realm, and Immortal Emperor Realm]
"I will protect you when we enter," Mo Chu said with a frown. "After all, we won't be entering alone. The Ancient Immortal Clans are coming."
"Senior Sister, I heard our sect master warn us about offending them. Why? What's wrong?" Li Hai asked curiously.
"The Ancient Immortal Clans are the strongest forces in the immortal world. They control everything that happens. Even the ancient secluded sects can't compete with them. The fact that they're coming for this ruin means something significant is here. We weren't told the full truth," Mo Chu said, frowning slightly.
"At least I have that map from Mother. I should be able to retrieve something valuable from this ruin, and Li Hai should get something too," Mo Chu thought, smiling. She had studied her Junior Brother thoroughly and determined that, with enough resources, he would improve rapidly.
"Hmm, you're right, old man," Li Hai thought, a smirk forming on his lips. "Those old foxes , i suspect there are Immortal Emperor-level resources and cultivation techniques here."
"Hmph, they dare plot against this man just because i was a rogue cultivator. hmph, Follow my guidance, and I will provide you with the power you need. You will trample them beneath your feet," an ancient voice echoed in Li Hai's mind, causing him to smile.
"Heh, this will be fun. I can't wait to face those so-called monsters of the Ancient Immortal Clans," Li Hai thought with anticipation.
