1273  Unexpected Call

Late at night, inside the hotel club loud music was pumping and the whole place shook with cheers and excitement, at the dance floor people swayed their bodies to the beat of the music, followed by colorful laser light shooting into the club ceiling.

They said they were celebrating the smooth running of the photoshoot but some said it was for celebrating they survived the previous Wyvern attack, anyway no one cared about the reason the party was held as long they could have fun! Even though, one can imagine the situation of tomorrow's photoshoot later, because of that some managers tried to remind their artists but of course no one cared even the pervert Mosh returned to the party in his tacky colorful outfits and dancing on tables while raising champagnes bottles while screaming at the top of his lungs like a madman.

If anyone wonders why Mosh is still having a photoshoot after harassing people, well that's because no one reported him even if they did they knew it would be brushed off as a small incident.

Luckily they couldn't fire Lory, and the others as well, despite how much Mosh expressed his complaints and dissatisfaction, still they couldn't fire the people who helped save them from the Wyvern attack, cause if the press knew about this one could only imagine what would they write on the news later on.

Mosh was utterly infuriated by this and started making trouble and throwing a tantrum at every chance he got including almost ruining the photoshoot so to keep him calm the manager promised to invite a lot of beautiful women to accompany Mosh and ordered many expensive drinks to entertain Mosh and that's how this party was held in the first place.

Meanwhile, at the lounge rooftop, Sean and Andreas were drinking together without anyone else bothering them. Sean leaned against the railing scanning the crowd below, his eyes seemingly searching for someone.

"She's not here?" Andreas leaned against the glass railing while tipping his champagne glass.

Sean took a sip of his champagne then turned around and sighed, "Well, I expected that..."

"Even if she's here, what can you do? She hates you, remember" his pair of lips curled into a mocking smile.

Sean chuckled, "Yeah, I think I should change my strategy"

"You can start by not upsetting her again" quipped Andreas.

Sean couldn't deny it, "I know...by the way, how is the development of the information I provided, is there anything interesting?"

"Not much," Andreas tilted his head as a signal for Sean to follow him to continue their conversation on the sofa.

Sean followed him to the couch. he put the champagne glass on the table and then waited with a slight anticipation plastered on his face.

"According to the information I got from my informant in Blue Mirage city, there was indeed a big commotion within the Black Crow guild a few weeks ago, the details of what happened are not clear except for rumors of a feud between the Rising Hero party and a couple of husband and wife"

"The Rising Hero?" Sean pressed his lips together, "How do you say that with a straight face"

"...By a lot of practice," Andreas replies then takes a sip before placing the champagne glass on the coffee table before him.

"The rumors say about a powerful fire-gifted power going rampaged inside the Guild, strangely no one got hurt" Andreas squints his eyes suspiciously.

"Miss Swann said, Miss. Jane's husband attacked Mr. Liam Stoneberg but after further examination, he found no significant scars apart from fainting due to exhaustion." Sean felt there were many oddities in this incident.

"Yes, and as we know, the Fire gift is the most destructive gift among other gifts. I knew an incident where a child accidentally burned his entire family during his awakening period, that power is not a gift, it was a curse" Andreas's voice was cold as steel.

Sean lowered his gaze then took the glass and put it on his knee, his ice-blue eyes staring deeply at Andreas "...But no one was injured during the incident, Miss Swann is very certain about that and I don't think she lied about it...or do you think someone covered it up?"

Andreas shook his head "That's unlikely, something like that could not be covered without the knowledge of other hunters who were there, someone would know or say something, however ... Another thing might happen outside of their knowledge" Andreas's face showed suspicion of a conspiracy.

Sean's forehead furrowed as he tried to guess what might happened but without concrete evidence, nothing could be concluded "Can we get someone to get the copy of the surveillance from the Black Crow Guild?"

The corner of Andreas's eyes creased "Now this is where the plot is thickened" his upper body leaned forward "All the recordings about that day had been wiped out by the Guild itself"

"Why?" Sean was stunned for the guild would go that far for someone.

Andreas sneered "There's only two reasons why a guild wanted to help someone, whether they like that person or fear them"

Sean pursed his lips then rubbed his jaw and a second later he shook his head "My guts telling me, perhaps it's both"

Andreas rolls his eyes "Whatever the reasons are, overall she and her husband have enough ability to make the guild work in their favor"

"More reason to get her on our side then" Sean raised the glass with a charming smile.

"Whatever, but remember whatever you do, don't let it become personal, not only is she already married, also...we've got bigger things waiting ahead of us," Andreas reminded him seriously.

"Relax, it's just a job, I know what I do," Sean said nonchalantly.

In Lory's hotel room, the three of them had gathered again summing up their plan but Garrof didn't forget to put a soundproof barrier around them to avoid anyone might hearing their conversation.

"My contact at Brinwell has given an update about what Elena Reynold has done recently, and according to the information I got, Elena has been working on a top-secret project for Aeon, therefore it is difficult to find out what he is doing but according to the information I get a lot of creators involved in it, a very talented one nonetheless...." Garrof Expression deepens.

"So we can assume they are working on something big and most likely dangerous," Lloyd's voice became heavy as he realized the situation could only worsen if they didn't find out what the enemy had been cooking inside that place.

Lory frowned as she carefully measured the situation and what kinda of plan she had to do next, Lory then turned her gaze to Garrof "What is the security around that place?"

"Tight" Garrof replied briefly, then he continued "Anti spell were planted everywhere so we cannot use our gift or spells, there is also a metal detector, full body scanning in all entrances even to the canteen so we cannot bring weapons as well, and if that's not enough the place was swarmed with a security guard and they not just normal security guards, all of them were highly trained military personnel...oh we also need retina scan and Id card to enter "Garrof throw his hands on the air. n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

Lloyd grits his teeth "That place is a fortress"

"It means they are guarding something very important in there..." The more information she got, the more anxious she became. Lory felt they should get to the bottom of this as soon as possible.

They were suddenly startled by the sound of a telephone, they stared at each other for a moment then Garrof realized the sound came from his cell phone.

"Sorry..." Garrof sheepishly said as he reached into his back pocket, he then checked who was calling him and his lips pursed he grumbled "What the he*l" Still he answered the phone "Dan, I told you not to call me...what?" Garrof's expression became rigid he then quickly put the phone on the speaker.

Soon they heard a familiar voice.

"Garrof, thanks God! Please, we need your help, Owen was hurt and Lydia is not well either, I...I don't know what to do?" Dan's voice sounded panicked.

"What happened?" Garrof was stunned and so Lloyd immediately their face engulfed with worry.

"I...I don't know exactly what happened, but a few days ago Lydia came to us begging for help, she said she was running away from the S.A.I.N.T. organization, we couldn't leave her so we ran away together and now Dragxtarn and Paladin are chasing us!" Dan spoke without taking a breath, he sounded very scared and depressed.

Everyone in the room was completely shocked, Garrof shouted "WHAT? What have you—"

However, Lloyd interrupted "Where are you?" Lloyd didn't think it was the right time to ask what happened. The most important thing now is to rescue them first, the problem is they may be too far away to help.

"We, uh...we are in Gilstead city!" Dan's voice cracked.

"You are in Luxemborough!" Garrof shrill, luckily they already covered the room with a soundproof barrier if not someone should hear his scream.

"Where are you exactly?" Lloyd tries to remain calm to make Dan more anxious than he already is.

Dan seems looking for something before he answers again, "We're in the warehouse....it's a...Golden Bricks warehouse!" Lory immediately searched for the location, soon after she found the warehouse location she immediately showed her phone to Garrof and Lloyd. "It's a half hour from here, we better quick!" "Dan, listen to me! hide yourself well, don't go anywhere - don't do anything, we will come for you!" Lloyd's voice was etched with urgency.

"I will...please hurry, they will arrive soon," Dan sounds terrified as he rightly should.

Lory took her jacket, while Lloyd and Garrof stormed to their room to get their gear after that they rushed to the parking lot only then realizing they didn't have a car so they hijacked one of the cars available without care after that they drove away into the dark road.
