Chapter 1173 A Gut Feeling
1173 A Gut Feeling
'…Guess it's time for me to head out of the battlefield again.'
Digging into the food he ordered, Valyr had a slightly wry smile on his face as he thought about what happened after forging the two arquebuses back at the Blacksmith Guild's main hall.
Naturally, it went without saying that all of the blacksmiths Elder Alvin brought in to learn from his demonstration were left at a loss for words, especially when they saw how fast he completed his second arquebus.
As for the two elders, they were eventually able to regain their bearings, giving them the opportunity to ask Valyr a few more questions regarding the forging process on behalf of the other blacksmiths.
Yet, just like the blacksmiths themselves, they were also astounded by what Valyr was capable of.
'To think that many of them decided to make up their minds on that because of what I showed them,' thought Valyr to himself, letting out a faint chuckle as he continued savoring every bite of food he took.
'A skill that would allow them to conjure extra arms… it'll be a while before they'd be able to make effective use of those things during the forging process.'
'Even more so if they try to make use of it while forging an arquebus.'
Considering that the second arquebus he forged during the demonstration was a version based off the blueprint he'd contributed to the Imperial Production Guild, the young man felt confident that the blacksmiths would be able to make up for lost time because of it.
'Then again, it'd probably take a week or so from now for the first batch of arquebuses to arrive at the frontlines with the arquebus I gave them,' muttered the young man to himself, shrugging his shoulders at the thought.
'In any case, I've already done what I could to help them out. Surely there's no way they'd ask me to churn out arquebuses for the frontlines as if I were a one-man factory, right?'
Letting out a sigh at the thought, Valyr faintly murmured something to himself as he finished a meal.
"If I didn't hold back on my forging speed… I'd probably be able to clear a couple missions before focusing on the upcoming version."
Though he did tell himself that he planned on tying up some loose ends after meeting up with Julian, the main reason why he headed to the battlefield was to clear some missions and increase his rank.
Pondering over other things he could do while he was there, the young man eventually recalled Noel's request of wanting an arquebus of his own.
Finding out that Noel was at the frontlines thanks to a couple of messages while he was making his way to the military base, the thought eventually grew to what it was today, turning the request into a demonstration for other blacksmiths to learn how to forge an arquebus themselves.
Briefly thinking about the amount of time he could've saved if he didn't limit himself from working at his full speed, as well as the other sets of arms he could've conjured with Mystic Energy, Valyr eventually decided not to dwell on it any further.
"After all, what's done has been done."
With that, he made his way out of the restaurant before heading straight to the entrance that was nearest to the Algerie Kingdom.
Heading to the officers that kept track of who arrived and left the base, the young man did not hesitate to give them a heads-up on his plans of returning to the Algerie Kingdom again.
Though they found it slightly weird that he was already planning to return to the kingdom after only staying in the battlefield for a few days, the officers eventually accepted his request, considering the contributions he'd made to the frontlines thus far.
Then again, it wouldn't be wise for them to antagonize someone not only known by many as the Warlord of the East…
But also as a being that had the ability to kill Myths.
Swoosh!
After thanking them for their cooperation, Valyr left the military base before activating both [Flash of the Azure Dragon] and [Flight of the Azure Dragon].
Then, once he began to hover in the air with an azure dragon under his feet, he then proceeded to activate a couple of his usual stat-boosting skills, allowing his agility to reach a level he had yet to use while traveling before.
With his destination the Blacksmith Guild back at the Algerie Kingdom, the young man did not hesitate to push the azure dragon under him to its utmost limits, only to zoom through the air at a speed that immediately generated a sonic boom.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
"I've definitely exceeded the speed of sound at this point." Having conjured a barrier of energy around his body beforehand, Valyr's eyes slightly widened in surprise when he heard multiple small explosions go off around him with every passing second.
Wondering if it was possible to stop these explosions from happening, the young man eventually figured out how to stop them, transforming the shape of the azure dragon beneath him into something that cut through the air more smoothly.
Because of that, he was able to arrive at the kingdom in less than two hours, which left Julian at a slight loss for words after hearing him mention it.
Thankfully, the discussion they had on it did not last that long, with the man being reminded that the young man that came to see him was none other than the person Scho'doxa praised as having killed a Myth-level being at Rank 3.
With that out of the way, Julian eventually asked Valyr what brought him back to the Blacksmith Guild after leaving for the battlefield, considering that the latter only gave him a heads-up that he'd be returning soon.
In response, Valyr gave the man a rough explanation of his plans, briefly mentioning the reminder Scho'doxa gave them about the version that would come in a matter of days.
"I plan to head to a certain place for a meantime in preparation for these new beings," said Valyr. "I also plan to ask for a few materials from the guild before heading there."
Of course, it was no surprise that Julian was slightly curious as to where he was going, considering that the young man in front of him had never gone to any random place without a purpose in mind. Nôv(el)B\\jnn
Fortunately, after getting a list of materials from Valyr, he eventually got the answer he was looking for.
Though… it wasn't what he was expecting.
"Daffors Village," the young man told him in a succinct tone. "I'll be heading there for the meantime."
Unsurprisingly, Julian asked Valyr for more information after that, curious as to why he'd head to a village for the beings Scho'doxa mentioned.
In his mind, if they were beings protected by the system, then it was more likely for them to appear in far larger settlements such as the cities or the kingdoms.
However, just like the first response the young man gave him, the second response Valyr gave him was also something he wasn't expecting.
"Gut feeling."
"Gut feeling…?" murmured Julian to himself, only to look at Valyr in slight confusion. "You're heading to a far away village… because of a gut feeling?"
Hearing those words, Valyr could only flash a wry smile, indirectly telling the man with his expression that he didn't have any reason other than that.
But of course, the young man indeed have his reasons, considering the knowledge he had from his past life as a player.
'I could've chosen any village out there, seeing as almost every village would be swarmed by the players at the start of the game's release,' thought Valyr to himself. 'But I've got a feeling that Daffors Village will give me a surprise.'
Not only was it because Daffors Village was one of the villages where a few of the most prominent ranked players would appear…
It was also the village where his past self first set foot in Greater Beyond.

"…Well, alright then." Seeing as the young man did not have anything else to say after that, Julian decided to move on from the topic as he sent out a few messages to the guild's staff regarding the materials he requested.
Considering his contributions to the Blacksmith Guild, as well as his contributions to the ongoing war with the orcs, it was no surprise that the logistics of the guild moved faster than ever before to accommodate Valyr's requests.
In just half an hour, all of the materials Valyr asked for appear at the entrance of Julian's workshop, with many of the material piles being mundane items that only beginner blacksmiths would use for crafting.
Nevertheless, the sight of it appearing in front of Julian's workshop did cause the blacksmiths in the other workshops to wonder what was going on, briefly asking themselves as to what plan their guild leader had in mind.
Oblivious to the other blacksmiths' thoughts, Valyr stashed all of the piles of materials into his spatial bracelet, inwardly letting out a sigh of relief that his spatial bracelet was able to carry them all.
'I've definitely lucked out finding this spatial bracelet back in the inheritance,' thought the young man to himself, slightly chuckling soon after whilst Julian let out a low sigh.
"To think you've gotten all of those items from the guild at no cost," said the man with a wry smile. "I guess you were able to come up with a far better deal with the Imperial Production Guild than I initially thought."
"In any case, seeing as you've already gotten everything you need… go. Have a safe trip."
Hearing those words, Valyr beamed a bright smile at Julian and thanked him for his help before making his way to the guild's Teleportation Hall.
Once there, he quickly got into talks with the staff member manning the teleportation constructs, telling the latter the destination he had in mind.
"If you could teleport me to Leivard Town, that would be great."
And with that…
Whoosh!
He began his journey to Daffors Village.
