Legendary Shelter Survival Guide

Chapter 78 Flying Undead

Lucas used the water provided by Sandra to clean his arms and legs completely. They had some dried blood on them and not getting infected was the best priority.

They were all aloof in the sinister place waiting for the next species with patience. Lucas just wanted to level up and keep his people safe, he knew if they get out of this place safely then surviving outside would be the piece of cake.

"Those Kobolds..."

"What's that?" Jimmy asked, he was beside Lucas and it had been the case from the moment they completely obliviated the wolf-like bastards.

"There are these very dangerous and intelligent species near my shelter. I have been avoiding them till now letting them take a very good territory for themselves but if I survive... I will whoop their ass with this sword..." Lucas kept his hand on the hilt of his sword, a grin on his face made John and the others shook their heads with a smile.

No one said anything after that, everyone was in their own world thinking of surviving and going forward with their lives.

Soon, the free time was over, Lucas saw the last seconds dropping down until it went zero and the texts disappeared.

"Get ready, everyone." John said and the formation was made again. Yet this time, the three at the back were sitting on the logs, these two waves had gone by, and not once did they do anything and stood in safety.

Yet this time, they just sat on the logs with aliveness in their eyes as after this horde was also dealt with, they could resume their services.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

Lucas unsheathed his blade making it shine with its own light from torches on the walls and roof. The blade had already been cleaned with water when Lucas had time and he was ready to cover it with a lot again.

SHRILL!

Another voice came from the hole yet Lucas was unfazed, when things happen again and again, they tend to grow on you.

Lucas just waited with his blade ready to kill anyone in his sight.

This time, it did not take much time as a silhouette came out of the hole speedily. everyone had their eyes not straight but above, they were looking at something in the air and this was when even Lucas groaned with annoyance.

"... Zombie bird?" Jerry said while looking at it, the silhouette had stopped itself in the air and looked in the group's direction with the same lifeless eyes.

One could say that a dead bird can't fly but all the rules of the world were getting defied. The bird was covered in red flesh that looked like a covering of a fungus or something.

Its wingspan was large and had no feathers at all making many wonder who knew that birds need feathers to fly.

But now that it was flying and they had no knowledge as to how Lucas didn't care and looked at the bird with his perceptive eyes.

The bird too was covered in black tendrils but the main source was yet again the dark matter. For the bird, it was located right at its spine and Lucas deactivated his skill making the world have colors again.

The bird wasn't dilly-dallying and started falling down the air with its beak pointing toward them.

It had made its large wings fold on its body and the long beak was pointing in their direction while it literally fell from the air.

"W-What to do?!" Sean asked with panic, this had just reached the next level but Lucas had some experience in fighting the flying types.

"What to do you ask?" Lucas said while still looking at it fall, there was not much gap between them and Lucas gave it five seconds give or take to reach them and attack.

"Mr.Jerry, please shoot." Lucas had his sword gripped tightly, his eyes showing an intention of attacking such a creature.

"No need for formalities... call me Jerry."

PEW!

The fire bullet went in the sky but it did not reach the bird moving from near but not touching it at all. The zombie bird had no problem seeing the projectile coming toward it. The bird kept felling and Lucas could tell that the only thing it wanted was to infect his group and him. Read new adventures at empire

It was as if they were programmed to only do one thing, bite, and infect.

"Again!" Lucas exclaimed loudly, his sword was ready to strike the bird anytime but he wanted to be safer.

Mike sent another and yet another for assurance making Lucas note it down too in his mind that he had the option of multiple casts of the skill.

BANG

Finally, one of the bullets hit the bird right in the head making a blast sound.

It still came toward them but its beak was broken and the neck was deformed and limping back while the body fell down.

The momentum was broken by the blast and it fell two meters away from them making a big thud and wet sound.

The flesh on the ground made the fall a bit less dramatic as nothing splashed anywhere.

Lucas went running and without giving the tendril anytime, he cut the dark matter again. The reaction was gruesome and Lucas felt like he was torturing something. But the thing was dead to begin with or was it not?

"If the previous wave taught us something, it was that the numbers are going to increase and things will get tough when the undead are flying."

Jimmy nodded in response as Lucas was only blurting facts that were obvious to many including Sarah, she looked naive but her drive to become better to help Lucas made her become aware of everything around her more than the average in the pursuit of greater power.

SHRIILL!! SHRILL!! ...

Countless sounds came from the hole and Lucas decided to activate his sword's skill the second time throughout the whole dimension run.
