The Prodigies War

Chapter 1954: Backstab

Hearing Wang Tu say that, a cold gleam flashed in Jintian Xuanyue’s eyes. She was about to talk back but Lin Xun waved his hand to stop her.

“Let’s go.” He turned and left.

Seeing this, Jintian Xuanyue swept a glance at Wang Tu, Lu Dubu, and the others. “From this moment on, there are no more ties between us. You guys go your way and we go ours.”

After dropping those words, she turned to follow Lin Xun.

Lu Dubu kept hesitating as he wanted to say something, but in the end, he let out a long sigh out of distress.

The fact that the Dao Debate Assembly had destroyed their relationship made Lu Dubu wonder if the way they had acted was too cold-blooded.

Wang Tu, on the other hand, sneered. “No more ties between us, she says? It’s not like we’ve ever had any. They really take themselves too seriously.”

Xie Yuhua, who looked disheartened, suddenly felt an inexplicable anger. She rebuked, “Wang Tu, be resentful all you want, but don’t try to represent us!”

Lu Dubu and Su Muhan hurriedly mediated. After the departure of Leng Xiujia and the severance of their relationship with Jin Duyi and Jintian Xuanyue, they couldn’t afford to have any more internal conflicts at this juncture.

Only after a long time did their group leave the area.

……

Jintian Xuanyue couldn’t help but express her disgust upon catching up with Lin Xun, “Wang Tu’s attitude is simply unbearable!”

Lin Xun casually said, “It’s understandable that he wants to protect himself.”

Jintian Xuanyue was stunned. “Young Master, you’re not angry?”

Lin Xun couldn’t help but laugh, “Over him? He’s not worth it. I’ve gotten similar treatment before, with people seeing me either as a ferocious beast or a plague and avoiding me for fear of getting involved in my trouble.

“What’s more, I’ve never expected anyone to help me. It’s not like there’s anything between me and Wang Tu.”

Speaking of this, Lin Xun suddenly remembered something, “Hold on, Xuanyue, we need to talk to them again.”

“Why?” she asked.

“Leng Xiujia likewise isn’t on familiar terms with me, yet he went out of his way to decide to help me. This is already a big favor, so I want to find him, and Lu Dubu should have a way to contact him,” explained Lin Xun as he already turned around back.

“Alright.” Jintian Xuanyue accepted his decision without hesitation.

……

“Brother Su, let’s rest here.”

In front of an inconspicuous, low mountain range, Lu Dubu surveyed the surroundings and revealed a look of satisfaction.

“This is good,” agreed Su Muhan whose heavy injuries needed to be tended to as soon as possible.

Xie Yuhua and Wang Tu naturally had no objection.

However, as they were planning to dig a cave into the mountain, the sound of air ripping suddenly came from the distance.

Whoosh whoosh whoosh!

A dense group of cultivators came whistling over like comets. Their momentum was overwhelming.

Followed by a horde of powerful contestants, the leaders of the group were clearly Tu Qianjue of Heaven and Earth Dao Court, Zu Feiyu of All-Demon Dao Court, and Yan Yurou of Mythical Huang Dao Court.

“Damn it!”

Lu Dubu’s group froze as they felt like they had fallen into an ice cave. How could they have expected to encounter such a powerful lineup in the middle of nowhere?

“Run!” They teleported away without delay.

However, they were quickly surrounded. The difference in strength was too big as the other party consisted of core disciples of the Great SixCourts.

Not to mention the others, just the trio of Zu Feiyu, Tu Qianjue, and Yan Yurou alone was enough to make them feel despair.

It’s over!

As this thought popped up in the minds of Lu Dubu’s group, their expressions were bleak.

“It’s all because of Jin Duyi, it’s all because of him! We just met with him for a moment, yet it’s going to get us eliminated! That guy only brings disasters!” shouted Wang Tu who couldn’t stand it anymore, full of unwillingness and resentment.

“Huh?” Zu Feiyu originally hadn’t taken the small group seriously at all, only treating them as some prey on the side of the road that his group would conveniently eliminate.

However, after hearing Wang Tu’s complaint, he revealed a strange look and waved at the crowd. “Stay put.”

The group of powerful contestants surrounding Lu Dubu’s group instantly stopped.

“You said you just saw Jin Duyi?” Zu Feiyu’s eyes zapped like electricity as they locked onto Wang Tu.

Yan Yurou, Tu Qianjue, and the others also became focused. In these past days, they had searched every nook of the Mythical Huang Secret Realm for Lin Xun whereabouts, and were this close to digging deep into the ground.

During the hunt, they had even accidently messed with the terrifying Mi Wuya, which still gave them a pang of fear whenever they thought back to it.

Despite that, they hadn’t been able to find Lin Xun at all and were nursing a belly full of anger with nowhere to vent it.

Therefore, they realized at once after Wang Tu’s resentful outburst that this was an opportunity to change this standstill!

Lu Dubu faltered as he hurriedly shook his head, “No.”

Swish!

Zu Feiyu’s gaze was like a blade as it swept at Lu Dubu. He said icily, “Any more nonsense, and don’t blame me for sending you on your way first.”

Lu Dubu’s face clouded over as his heart was filled with unspeakable frustration.

In Cloud State, he was one of the most dazzling experts of the younger generation, but that was completely inadequate in front of a supreme genius like Zu Feiyu, who was in the top ten of the All Heavens Saint-King Rankings.

“I recognize them, they’re from Cloud State like Jin Duyi,” someone suddenly revealed their identity.

The expressions of Lu Dubu’s group drastically changed again.

Meanwhile, Zu Feiyu, Yan Yurou, and Tu Qianjue exchanged a delighted look.

“Tell me where Jin Duyi is, and I’ll do more than let you lot leave alive. I also won’t take your life talisman. Otherwise, you know the consequences!” growled Zu Feiyu. With loose clothes, long, untied hair, and a long sword on his back, he looked raw and savage.

He eyed Wang Tu. “You, answer.”

Wang Tu took a deep breath and said, “You will really let us go?”

“Don’t do it, Wang Tu!” shouted Su Muhan. “Everything happening in this secret realm is being watched by the great Emperor experts outside. Even if you sell Brother Jin out and are lucky to get free this once, it will still sabotage your reputation in front of the whole world!”

Boom!

Tu Qianjue suddenly attacked, pressing his palm in the air.

The already injured Su Muhan was directly smashed against the ground. As blood sprayed out from his mouth and nostrils, his face became pale to the point it was transparent.

“You’re tired of living!” spat Tu Qianjue.

Lu Dubu and Xie Yuhua both grew anxious. They were despairing inside, but they still turned to Wang Tu, wanting to stop the latter with their eyes.

However, Wang Tu ignored them and said through gritted teeth, “Jin Duyi is the reason why we keep running into danger. Even if you guys hadn’t asked, I would still tell you his whereabouts.”

Zu Feiyu laughed, “A wise man submits to circumstances. You are a wise man.”

Tu Qianjue urged, “Speak.”

Wang Tu betrayed Lin Xun without hesitation, “A few minutes ago, we ran into him in a wasteland a hundred miles away from here. When he left with that wretch Jintian Xuanyue, they went southwest. You can definitely catch up with them if you go now at full speed.”

Hearing this, Lu Dubu and Xie Yuhua both sighed in their hearts, and their blood ran cold at what Wang Tu had done.

As for Su Muhan, who was suppressed on the ground, he was even more enraged as he quivered with utter anger. Even though they had parted ways with Lin Xun, he still deemed such behavior to be despicable and shameless, and it was something he could never do.

This was betrayal!

Did one really have to forsake their dignity and shame in order to survive in this Mythical Huang Secret Realm?

“Very good!” Zu Feiyu laughed at the sky. “Since you were so straightforward to answer, Fellow Daoist, you may go.”

Wang Tu also laughed, but then he was dumbstruck. “What about my friends?”

“Them?” Tu Qianjue revealed a ruthless expression. “They refused to cooperate, so we’ll have to send them on their way.”

Wang Tu said angrily, “Didn’t you say you’d let us all go?”

“So what, you’re not going?” said Tu Qianjue impatiently.

Wang Tu’s complexion alternated between blue and white as he struggled immensely inside.

Of course he wanted to go, or else he wouldn’t have cooperated so quickly, but he knew even better that even if he could leave safely now, it wouldn’t take long before he would be inevitably eliminated.

The reason was simple: he alone didn’t even qualify to fight against the remaining experts!

“Just scram!” bellowed Tu Qianjue.

“Everyone… I…” Wang Tu didn’t dare to look Lu Dubu and the others in the eyes.

“Just go. We were blind to have allied and traveled with a person like you!” Lu Dubu looked livid.

Xie Yuhua directly ignored Wang Tu.

“Everyone’s telling you to get lost. Why haven’t you?” hissed Su Muhan.

“Hmph!” Wang Tu gritted his teeth and turned to leave.

“Brother Tu, you take care of them. I’ll bring the others to chase after Jin Duyi,” said Zu Feiyu, already leading Yan Yurou and a bunch of contestants and moving toward the distance.

Only Tu Qianjue and six Heaven and Earth Dao Court disciples remained.

“Don’t take this to heart, everyone. This is a competition, so an additional opponent eliminated means a bit more chance for us.” Tu Qianjue ruthlessly waved his hand. “Send them on their way.”

The six core disciples of Heaven and Earth Dao Court beside him immediately moved. They came at Lu Dubu’s group from different directions while shrouded in killing intent.

Wang Tu stopped at a great distance away and looked back at the area with a ferocious expression on his childlike face. “Still trying to protect that bastard Jin Duyi at a time like this? You deserve to be eliminated!”

However, his pupils suddenly shrunk at what he saw next.

In front of the besieged Lu Dubu, Xie Yuhua, and Su Muhan, there was suddenly a blade that came out of nowhere.

It was a broken blade that flowed with obscure dao light. With restrained sharpness, it gently swept.

A huge, round hollow was instantly cut out within the void.

There was no need to say how powerful were the core disciples of Heaven and Earth Dao Court as they attacked, but under the sweep of that blade, they were sent flying viciously!

Rumblee!

The whole region quaked. Amidst the blinding eruption of light, a shriek of shock and anger resounded.

In the vision of Tu Qianjue, Wang Tu, Lu Dubu, and everyone who were spread out in different areas, a handsome figure had seemingly appeared out of nowhere.

And that broken blade was happily dancing around him.
