Rise of the Blood Sovereign

Chapter 98 Lyle's Plans

98  Lyle's Plans

"You actually gained the ability?" Lyle blurted out as Adam nodded to him.

'He's only awakened his ability mere weeks ago, and now he has three, that's some luck right there.' Lyle thought as he sighed and sat down.

"Well, you will need to practice with that ability as well, it's a useful one, you did see the bear use it before, so you already know what those flames can do."

"As for you two, the skills you have gained are not bad and they will definitely be helpful in the future, especially the passive skills that you have gained, those will continue to empower you in the future."

"Well, you guys get comfortable, I need to do something right now, I'll be back later," Lyle said as he got up from his seat.

"Tomorrow we will start with the creation of our organization, also, there is a need to increase our own strength as well, so we will go hunting for monsters in the forest." Lyle left the house and left the three inside.

Each of them was acting a bit awkwardly as they didn't know anything about each other, well, Wan and Olman knew nothing of Adam and vice versa.

Since the three were now in the same boat and were connected to Lyle as servants, they decided to get to know each other a bit and started sharing their stories.

As for Lyle, he put on a disguise and made his way over to the center of the city where one could find many stores. His goal was to go to a couple of jewelry stores in order to sell the gems and jewelry he had stolen from the caravan back in Olswan.

Creating an organization was not easy and he would need money. He had already gotten paid for killing the young duke, and although he was supposed to get 20 000 gold coins, he had actually been paid 40 000 thanks to the mission being much more dangerous than expected.

Creating an organization was not easy and he would need money. He had already gotten paid for killing the young duke, and although he was supposed to get 20 000 gold coins, he had actually been paid 40 000 thanks to the mission being much more dangerous than expected.

With the money in Ilya's spatial ring, he now had about 150 000 gold coins, coupled with his own savings, he had about 200 000.

The worth of the gems and jewelry was above 100k and he would definitely need it in the future. It was not only for setting up and running the organization but also so that he could arm himself and his servants, not to mention that there was a need to arm those in the organization as well.

He luckily already had the 10 armor sets and weapons from the caravan, and each of them was powerful enough to be useful for a very long time until they reached the Titled Knight realm.

Unfortunately, there were only swords among the weapons, which meant that he would need to buy a new weapon for all of them, even for Wan who was good with a curved sword as using a normal sword was different.

He could sell the swords if there was any need for money, and thankfully, there were 20 of them.

Lyle entered a jewelry store and immediately went to the counter. He wore a slick blue suit with golden buttons and the store clerk was all smiles as he saw him. The suit was expensive and Lyle had decided to wear it so that he wouldn't bring attention to himself.

A person that looked rich and was selling gems and jewelry, especially expensive ones, was nothing that uncommon inside Orsvald, but if he was to wear a different outfit and sell them, there would definitely be people talking about it.

Sometimes, the best way to keep yourself hidden was to do the opposite, and that was exactly what Lyle was doing now. Long blonde hair fell down to his shoulders as crystal blue eyes stared at the store clerk with a smile.

Lyle had actually put on a wig and contact lenses that changed the color of his eyes. A good assassin could disguise himself quickly, and even though this disguise would immediately be seen through by anyone that was proficient at it, it was enough to fool some store clerks.

Lyle visited 3 jewelry stores and sold enough items to get about 15k gold coins before going back to the house. Selling too much would bring a lot of unnecessary attention, and Lyle still had no idea who it was that had enough power to get all the things that were in the caravan out of the city so quickly.

It was definitely a person that had a high standing on the social ladder, and if he was to sell everything right away, there was a high chance that that person would find out and start investigating things in Orsvald.

He was certain that the person was even now trying his best to find out just how had taken all the items from the caravan and didn't want to gain a new enemy so quickly.

What he didn't know was the fact that the person behind the theft, Harrison, was actually doing the exact opposite. Harrison knew that order for the thief to sneak in when there were so many knights around meant that he was quite proficient at doing so and that his level was definitely not low.

The weapons and armor sets were an important part of his plan, but their disappearance would not disrupt the plans, it would merely set them back by a bit.

After all, it wasn't as if Harrison was able to see the future and know that Orsted would die in the future as he had only gotten the news one day before the latter had died. His plans, however, had been in motion for much longer than that.

He didn't even know just what the merchant would be able to bring him, but he had only needed about 5 sets of armor and 5 swords to arm himself, and his three guards, and to have one as a backup.

The loss of over 100k gold coins was not low, but Harrison would of course be able to make that without much trouble, just like he had done in the past.

What Lyle was also unaware of, was the fact that the three personal servants and guards of Harrison were in Orsvald right now. With neither party knowing about the other, it would be hard for them to contact one another in any way, however.

Lyle was not about to give his servant the armor sets, however.

He didn't want them to become overly reliant on using such powerful armor that could defend them against any threat at their current level. That would simply lower their reflexes and once they reached Tier III, or perhaps even during a battle against a powerful Silver Knight, it could end up disastrously.

Lyle had after all only been a Silver Knight during his assassination of Orsted, and he was able to easily kill the guards that had worn such armor thanks to the fact that none of them were well-trained and only relied on their armor to keep them safe.

He had barely any trouble killing them, and he didn't want the same to happen to his servants.

Even though he cared little for Olman and Wan right now, they were still his servants and he felt a sense of responsibility to make sure they became powerful in the future. He wouldn't weep if they died as he had no emotional connection with them, but he also wouldn't take it lightly as they were his men.

Lyle returned to his house later in the evening and went to sleep. The day had been full of events and he needed to rest a bit as he was going to not only start forming an organization tomorrow, but he was also going to go hunting with the other three.

Upon waking up, he and the others all met in the living room and had breakfast before they started talking about the organization.

It turned out that there were still a couple of thugs alive from their organization, and they would need to get rid of them first in order for no one to ever be able to connect Wan and Olman to Morn.

The city was already in an uproar after the news of the death of Lordic and the Holad family, and the Rain family had already started investigating their deaths.

The Holad family was after all an important ally of theirs, and for an entire family to suddenly be killed like that was no laughing matter. Even the other noble families in the city were alarmed and did all they could to help the Rain family out in their investigation. n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

None of them wanted to be suspected of murdering the Holad family and did all they could to cooperate. The allies of the Rain family were even more worried as this could potentially have been an attack from another large family that wanted the Rain family's power to diminish, which could mean that none of them were safe.

Another thing that Lyle was going to do today, was actually buy weapons and armor for Wan and Olman since the ones they used were not good enough for the current them.
