MY SUGAR MUMMY IS A BEAUTIFUL VAMPIRE

Chapter 430 Price of love

Blake tightened his grip on the coffin as the spirit world twisted around him. Above the starless sky, a pale silver eye watches over the dead woods. Its cold light kissed the earth, revealing Blake's silhouette moving through the trees and against the twisting shadows. His black cloak fluttered like a restless ghost in the faint breeze, his boots crunching softly over brittle leaves and frost.

He held the coffin tightly in his arms, its intricate carvings on the lid twisting into forms that seemed alive in the moonlight. It was heavy, not just with its physical weight but with the burden of what it held—his wife.

Blake's face was a mask of calm, but his crimson eyes betrayed the storm within. A vampire's heart was supposed to be still, cold, unfeeling. Yet, his chest burned with every step he took deeper into the spirit realm. He glanced at the coffin, his jaw tightening as he thought of her— Rose. Her beauty had once rivaled the sunrise, her laughter brighter than any flame. But now, she lay in silence, trapped in a torment worse than death.

The spirit world was no place for the living, nor the undead. The air grew colder with every step, thick with the weight of unseen eyes. The trees began to change, their branches twisting unnaturally, their bark oozing a black, tar-like substance. Shadows moved where they shouldn't, and the ground seemed to shift underfoot.

Blake pressed on, the coffin held close to his chest, his grip firm as though afraid she might slip away.

His thoughts drifted to the familiar—Nemisis. This creature born of hatred and greed, had taken Rose's soul, binding it in chains of darkness. The Nemisis feeds on despair, its power growing with every moment her soul remains trapped. Blake had vowed to free her, no matter the cost. Even if it meant his own destruction.

A low growl rumbled through the air, snapping him back to the present. He stopped, his sharp gaze scanning the shadows. The forest-like surrounding had fallen unnaturally silent, the kind of silence that screamed danger. His grip on the coffin tightened.

The trees ahead parted, revealing a clearing bathed in an eerie blue glow. In the center stood a stone archway, ancient and crumbling, its surface etched with glowing runes. It was the gate to the Nemisis' main territory.

Blake set the coffin down gently at the base of the archway. He knelt beside it, his fingers tracing the lid's carvings, whispering words in an ancient vampire tongue, which he had memorized - all thanks to Dumpheries. The runes on the coffin began to glow faintly, pulsing in rhythm with his words. The air around him grew heavy, pressing against his chest like an invisible weight. Enjoy new adventures from empire

He stood and turned toward the archway, his face set in grim determination. The glow from the runes on the stone seemed to react to his presence, flaring brighter as if acknowledging his resolve. Blake placed a hand on the cold stone, feeling the energy thrumming beneath his palm.

"You will not have her," he growled, his voice low but filled with unyielding resolve.

The ground beneath his feet trembled as the archway came alive, a swirling vortex of light and shadow forming within its frame. It pulsed with raw power, the air crackling like a storm about to break. Blake stepped forward, the coffin floating beside him as though tethered to his will.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

As he crossed the threshold, the world shifted yet again. The cold of the forest was replaced by a suffocating heat, the air thick with the stench of sulfur and decay. The ground was barren, cracked, and glowing faintly with an otherworldly red light. Jagged mountains rose in the distance, their peaks lost in swirling black clouds.

The spirit realm was a place of nightmares, where reality twisted and bent, and the line between life and death blurred. Blake kept his focus on the path ahead, ignoring the whispers that seemed to come from nowhere and everywhere at once. They called his name, mocking him, taunting him with promises of failure.

He could feel Rose's presence yet again, faint but unmistakable, like a flicker of light in the darkness. It gave him strength, his steps quickening despite the weight of the coffin and the oppressive atmosphere.

But then, the whispers changed. They grew louder, more distinct, and one word echoed above the rest:

"Blake…"

He froze, his hand instinctively going behind his back in an attempt to form a globe of blood. The air around him grew colder, the oppressive heat replaced by a bone-chilling frost. From the shadows ahead, a figure began to emerge, its form shifting and twisting like smoke given shape.

The Nemisis.

It stood tall, its body a grotesque amalgamation of shadow and what seemed like flesh, its eyes glowing with an unnatural, malevolent light. Chains hung from its form, dragging across the ground with a metallic scrape. In its clawed hand, it held something that made Blake's blood run cold—a shard of glowing light, pulsating weakly. Rose's soul.

Blake's jaw tightened, his fists clenched. The Nemisis let out a low, guttural laugh, the sound resonating through the air like a death knell.

"You've come far, Blake," it hissed, its voice a sinister melody. "But this is where your journey ends."

Blake stepped forward, his crimson eyes blazing with fury. "Not until she's free."

The Nemisis grinned, its sharp teeth glinting in the dim light. "Then come and take her."

Blake took a glance at the coffin, his gaze soft despite the tension in the air. "I didn't come here to talk," he said. "Let's finish this."

Nemisis laughed, a sound that reverberated through the chamber. "You're bold. I'll give you that." It stretched out a clawed hand, and the shadows around it coalesced into a massive weapon—a blade forged from pure darkness. "But boldness won't save you."

Blake took a deep breath, his muscles coiled and ready.

'This is your final test, Blake,' he thought to himself quietly. "You'll need everything you've known and learned to survive."

Nemisis raised its weapon, its eyes gleaming with malevolent anticipation. "Come, then. Let me show you the true price of love."

Blake didn't flinch. He took a step forward, his eyes locked on the creature before him.
