Chapter 208 The Truth Behind the Six Kingdoms War

Apart from the King of Qin from the Netherworld World, several others had also stumbled into deadly battles by accident, which further reduced the already dwindling number of survivors. If things continued to deteriorate at this rate, it was highly likely that in the end, only one or two people from each Divine Kingdom would survive.
No wonder the Judge mentioned before that if the number of survivors was the same, the ranking would be determined by the number of Domain Beads one possessed; it seems the Judge knew from the start that not many would make it out alive.
But because the Sand Realm had been completely isolated by the Judge, it was impossible to extend one's Divine Sense too far, and some of the Divine Skills for locating people couldn't be used either. Therefore, it was impossible to determine how many from one's own side were still alive.
Even though it was possible to sense through the Domain Beads that many Domain Lords were gathered in various locations, it was not feasible to discern whether these were multiple Soul Beads owned by one person or a group of people together.
The situation was becoming increasingly urgent and difficult. On one hand, one had to avoid the approach of the Divine Beads because the bead you perceived to be solitary might turn out to be a group of people when you arrive. Thus, without being able to clearly probe the numbers of the other party, the only option was to keep moving away.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
On the other hand, it was necessary to find and kill as many Black Mirror Scorpions and Tongtian Worms as possible during the day to seize enough Crystalline Body, and to find a relatively safe place to stay; otherwise, when night fell, it would turn into a treacherous ghost land once again.
So there was no time to rest at all. Although the day was much safer, if you spent that time resting, others would take advantage of it to rapidly enhance their strength, and in the end, if one's power wasn't sufficient, death was still certain.
Someone might say, why not discard the Domain Bead and find a place to hide? After all, the final ranking of the Six Kingdoms War is determined by the number of survivors from each nation. This idea is indeed tempting, but how could the Judge from the Patrolling Celestial World, the supervisor of this Six Kingdoms War, allow such a thing to happen?
Before the Six Kingdoms War even started, the Judge had clearly stated that after the three days of battle were over, the Domain Beads would create a Teleportation Array, and only through this array could one leave this place. Otherwise, one would have to stay here forever.
Of course, if you think you have the capability to pass through the Barriers set by the Judge on your own, then you can completely ignore this rule.
Therefore, during the Six Kingdoms War within this Sand Realm, losing your Domain Bead equates to losing half your chance of survival. If you can't find an ally from your side who possesses a Domain Bead or seize another one after losing yours, it's basically a death sentence. So no matter how dangerous, no one would give up their Domain Bead.
Of course, what happened to the King of Qin before was an accident.
In the midst of constant battling, plundering, fleeing, searching, absorbing, and Refinement, another day had passed. Until now, half of the Six Kingdoms War was over, and the people from every Divine Kingdom had become like frightened birds, especially at night.
Even though they were exhausted, they dared not relax in the slightest, for one never knew when the Tongtian Worms, measuring tens to hundreds of meters long, might suddenly emerge from the sand, or when one could be swallowed up by a tide of Black Mirror Scorpions in a moment of distraction.
However, not everyone was worn out. The Six-Eared Macaque from the Netherworld World, the King of Qin and the Cangming Ghost King from the same world; Lin Xi from the Genesis Divine Nation; Jing Potian from the Annihilation Demon Nation; Hao Chen, Bu Yun, and Yao Wumeng from the Myriad Demons Country; Bi Hai from the Myriad Gods Hall and Jixin from the Myriad Spirits Realm.
These individuals, despite being disheveled and bearing varying degrees of injuries, were all brimming with vitality. Clearly, they had greatly benefited from absorbing the Crystalline Body during the day. Thus, they were not overly afraid of this night.
With significant enhancement to their strength and their slaughter during the day, they had developed some understanding of the combat methods, habits, and weaknesses of these Black Mirror Scorpions and Tongtian Worms.
In the eyes of these powerhouses, these normally terrifying poisonous insects and fierce beasts seemed like endless sources of the Mysterious Crystal, a guarantee for advancing further.
Although the majority here did not have the Earth Attribute and, as such, could not fully grasp and absorb the essence of the Earth Element Law, it was still far more beneficial than slowly unraveling the vast Laws on their own—and by a great margin.
Many had even stored these Crystalline Body for future use, planning to exchange them for everything else when they got outside. Not everyone was as lucky as the Six-Eared Macaque, who happened to possess the pure Earth Attribute without a trace of any other Elements mixed in, making the absorption process doubly effective.
Finally, the last glimmer of light was also devoured by darkness, and everyone became extremely vigilant. Those clustered together agreed on a place and then parted ways. The more people there were together, the more venomous insects and fierce beasts they attracted. Being alone made it easier to either flee or fight.
Slowly, the entire desert began to tremble, with swarms of Black Mirror Scorpions or Tongtian Worms with their sharp massive jaws covering the ground, and there was also a kind of fist-sized earthy yellow ant which was equally horrifying. Not only was their body hard as iron, but their teeth were also incredibly sharp, and most importantly, these ants could fly.
Although everyone was mentally prepared that night, the appearance of these giant ants quickly reduced them to fleeing.
In fact, there were only a dozen or so people in total, all scattered, with no one grouping together. As soon as the flying ants appeared, Six-Eared Macaque and the others were caught off guard, immediately receiving several painful bites on their hands and legs. All the bitten places burned fiercely, as if a red-hot knife had sliced off a chunk of flesh.
"These ants are poisonous, but luckily it's not some virulent poison, or a single bite would've been fatal. Damn it, if it continues like this, by dawn there probably won't be many people left!
This Sand Realm is too horrifying, it's even worse than Hell." Facing the sky darkened by the flying ants like a black cloud, the ground tidal wave of Black Mirror Scorpions, and the hundred-meter-long Tongtian Worms underground, the situation was extremely perilous.
At this moment, Six-Eared Macaque was too busy to attack. He could only transform the Crimson Blood Roaming Dragon Staff into a blood-red giant dragon, then stand on the dragon's head, opening an Earth Attribute barrier to flee towards the distance. Even though the entire Sand Realm was filled with these dreadful creatures, there were areas that were more or less densely populated.
During the day, Six-Eared Macaque even discovered a dilapidated ancient city. Now he was flying towards that ancient city, despite not knowing what it was like, as there were no better options.
This Devouring Blood Dragon was a new technique Six-Eared Macaque had recently mastered. It was initially only a few meters long when first summoned, but the blood dragon could grow by devouring flesh and blood, converting it into strength. By now, it had already grown to over sixty meters and was still expanding as it devoured continuously.
But there were simply too many ants and scorpions, so Six-Eared Macaque had no choice but to flee.
Flying was a bit of a stretch, as Six-Eared Macaque was just standing atop the dragon, which floated just about five meters above the ground. It had to occasionally scurry with its claws on the ground to keep going. All this was due to the Sky-banishing Formation set by the Judge to prevent participants from flying high as a shortcut.
Though the formation weakened greatly during the day, one couldn't fly freely and was limited to low-altitude gliding.
While flying, Six-Eared Macaque pondered the true purpose of the Six Kingdoms War. What was usually a straightforward event was now personally overseen by a Judge from the Patrolling Celestial World and had so many odd rules attached. Moreover, the mortality rate was excessively high—if everyone died, what would be the point of the Six Kingdoms War?
Was it really just for the participants from the Patrolling Celestial World to receive varied levels of rewards?
But that seemed too strange. If they wanted to grant privileges to the Six Great Divine Nations or punish them, it wouldn't require so much hassle, especially with the crystalline bodies of the venomous insects in the Sand Realm containing the essence of Laws.
It was impossible that the people from Patrolling Celestial World were unaware of this, so the only explanation was that the Heavenly Patroller chose this place deliberately as the battlefield of the Six Kingdoms War.
Also, I've never heard of such a place at the center of the Six Great Divine Nations, and even Yue Huangquan was surprised when he heard of such a place called the Sand Realm. It seems even the Domain Lords were unaware of the existence of the Sand Realm.
Otherwise, only by hunting the Black Mirror Scorpions and Tongtian Worms in here and consuming massive amounts of the mysterious crystals could these Domain Lords hope to reach the end of the Supreme Path.
However, it was clear that this was not the case. Could it be guessed then that this Six Kingdoms War had another secret purpose and that the Sand Realm was a world specially created by the Heavenly Patroller?
Those mysterious crystals were also specially manufactured, with the aim of allowing those who participated in the Six Kingdoms War and managed to survive to undergo a drastic change in strength. This would also explain the incredibly high mortality rate.
Otherwise, those participating in the Six Kingdoms War could be said to be super experts who were either famous for a long time or had been hidden for years in the Six Great Divine Nations. How could such super experts die so easily? It must be due to some inadequacies or disqualifications in their performance over these two days that they were directly eliminated!
With this in mind, as long as one can figure out the common traits or similarities among the survivors, the secret of this Six Kingdoms War could be unraveled.
As Six-Eared Macaque contemplated, a voice suddenly echoed in his mind, "Do not proceed any further, or death is certain!"
What do you think?
