Cronus' system: Against the gods

Chapter 146 Filler Chapter- Zeus vs Poseidon

The sea churned violently as the skies raged above. Waves the size of mountains crashed against the rocky shores, the heavens darkened with swirling tempests. At the heart of the chaos stood Poseidon, his trident shimmering with ethereal, oceanic light. His expression was as cold and unyielding as the depths he ruled, his cerulean eyes glowing with ancient fury.

"Enough of your arrogance, Zeus!" Poseidon's voice boomed, carrying across the storm-laden skies. It was a voice that could command the oceans and drown cities, filled with centuries of restrained anger. "Your tyranny over Olympus ends today!"

High above, Zeus hovered like a vengeful god incarnate, his form wreathed in spiraling lightning that danced along his bronze skin. His golden eyes blazed with divine rage, each crackling spark radiating the full might of his authority. He extended a hand toward Poseidon, lightning arcing between his fingertips like serpents ready to strike.

"You dare defy me, brother?" Zeus's voice reverberated like the roar of thunder, shaking the very fabric of the world. "I am King of the Gods! You forget your place!"

Poseidon thrust his trident upward, and a geyser of seawater exploded from the earth, surging toward Zeus with the speed of a tidal wave. "And you forget, brother," Poseidon snarled, his voice dripping with venom, "that kings are not above judgment!"

The column of water rose to meet Zeus, but with a single gesture, Zeus unleashed a thunderous bolt of lightning. The water exploded into a cloud of mist and steam, dissipating instantly. Zeus smirked, but Poseidon was already in motion.

With a mighty leap, the Sea God surged forward, his trident trailing spirals of glowing aquamarine energy. The air itself seemed to bow before his presence, the storm's winds shifting in his favor. Poseidon struck, his trident aimed for Zeus's heart.

The impact was cataclysmic.

Zeus raised his arms, a shimmering barrier of electricity forming in the blink of an eye. The trident collided with the barrier, unleashing a shockwave that shattered the clouds above and sent ripples across the sea below. The air cracked and burned, the sheer force of the clash tearing apart the world around them.

Poseidon gritted his teeth, pushing harder. His muscles bulged with the effort, veins glowing faintly with divine power. Zeus sneered, his aura intensifying as he poured more energy into the shield. Lightning and water clashed in a deadly dance, creating bursts of steam that hissed and roared like tortured spirits.

"You cannot overpower me, Poseidon!" Zeus growled, his voice like the grinding of tectonic plates. With a sudden surge, he forced the trident back, the barrier exploding outward in a cascade of electric energy. Poseidon was thrown backward, crashing into the sea with a thunderous splash.

The ocean churned violently, waves rising like titanic hands ready to grasp Zeus. Poseidon emerged moments later, his trident raised high. "You always underestimate the sea," he hissed, his voice colder than the depths. With a thrust of his weapon, the waves obeyed, surging upward into a towering tsunami aimed directly at Zeus.

Zeus didn't flinch. He extended both hands, summoning a massive spear of lightning. It crackled with unbridled energy, its glow illuminating the darkened battlefield. "You forget, brother," Zeus said with a cruel smile, "that the storm answers to me!"

With a deafening roar, Zeus hurled the lightning spear into the heart of the tsunami. The collision was apocalyptic. The spear detonated on impact, vaporizing the wave and sending shockwaves rippling outward. Water sprayed into the sky, raining down in a torrential downpour. The force of the blast knocked Poseidon back, but he recovered swiftly, his eyes blazing with defiance.

The clash continued with unrelenting ferocity. Poseidon summoned whirlpools and waterspouts, hurling them at Zeus with deadly precision. Zeus countered with volleys of lightning bolts, each strike splitting the sea and illuminating the battlefield in flashes of blinding light. The world seemed caught between their fury, nature itself bending to their will.

"Enough!" Zeus bellowed, his voice shaking the heavens. He raised both hands, summoning a storm so vast it blotted out the horizon. Lightning crackled and danced across the sky, the clouds swirling into a vortex of pure energy. "I will end this farce here and now!"

Poseidon narrowed his eyes, his grip tightening on his trident. He could feel the raw power gathering above, a force so immense it could obliterate everything in its path. But he was not afraid. He was the god of the sea, and the sea was eternal.

"Do your worst," Poseidon said, his voice low and dangerous. He raised his trident, the ocean behind him rising in response. The water formed into a massive serpent, its glowing eyes locked onto Zeus. It coiled and hissed, its sheer size dwarfing the battlefield.

Zeus unleashed his storm, a colossal bolt of lightning surging downward with the force of a thousand storms. At the same time, Poseidon commanded his serpent forward, the creature surging toward Zeus with unrelenting speed. The two forces collided in an explosion of light and energy, the shockwave rippling across the world.

For a moment, everything was silent.

Then, from the heart of the explosion, Zeus and Poseidon emerged, their forms battered but unyielding. Their auras burned brighter than ever, their divine power refusing to falter. The ground beneath them was scorched and cracked, the sea boiling and hissing around them.

Poseidon smirked, wiping blood from the corner of his mouth. "You've grown stronger, brother. I'll give you that."n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

Zeus scowled, his eyes narrowing. "And you've grown bolder. But this ends now."

Before either could make their next move, a voice echoed across the battlefield, filled with authority and calm. "Enough, both of you!"

A figure descended from the sky, his presence immediately commanding attention. Hades, clad in dark robes that seemed to shimmer like shadows, stepped between his brothers. His pale face was stern, his dark eyes piercing. "Do you intend to destroy the world with your petty feud?"

Zeus and Poseidon glared at each other, but neither moved. The tension in the air was palpable, the storm and the sea calming slightly at Hades' presence.

"This isn't over," Zeus growled, his tone low and dangerous.

"Agreed," Poseidon replied, his voice equally cold. He turned and descended into the ocean, the waves parting to allow him passage. Zeus lingered for a moment, his lightning fading as he turned away, disappearing into the storm.

Hades sighed, his shoulders relaxing. "Fools," he muttered, gazing at the ruined battlefield. "Will they ever learn?"

As Hades stood in the aftermath of the divine clash, the world around him bore the scars of the gods' wrath. The sea still frothed angrily, waves crashing against the broken cliffs, while the sky remained shrouded in dark clouds, faint sparks of residual lightning flickering in the distance.

He knelt, placing a hand on the scorched ground. "This foolishness weakens us all," he muttered, the earth beneath his palm trembling slightly at his touch. Shadows gathered around him, whispering secrets of the underworld, of things yet to come.

"Darling…" a soft, ethereal voice echoed behind him.

Hades turned slowly to see Persephone, her presence like a calming balm against the chaos. Draped in robes of deep green, her auburn hair flowed gently in the wind, and her emerald eyes shimmered with a mixture of concern and quiet strength.

"You knew this would happen," she said, stepping closer to him.

"I did," Hades admitted, rising to his feet. "Zeus's hubris grows unchecked, and Poseidon's patience has long since worn thin. It was only a matter of time before one of them broke."

Persephone gazed at the ruined horizon. "And now?"

"Now…" Hades's voice trailed off as he glanced toward the sea, where Poseidon had vanished. His dark eyes gleamed with a knowing light. "Now, we wait. They think this is the end, but the true storm is still to come."

Persephone frowned, sensing the weight of his words. "You believe something worse is approaching?"

Hades nodded. "War among gods never ends cleanly. Mortals will suffer. And there are forces beyond Olympus—ancient forces—that have waited for such a moment. If we remain divided, they will strike."

A distant rumble of thunder echoed, a reminder of the fading tempest. Persephone placed a gentle hand on Hades's arm. "Then we must prepare, mustn't we?"

Hades gave her a rare, faint smile. "Indeed. The dead whisper of shadows rising, of old enemies stirring. Olympus may soon find itself fighting not just against itself, but against powers long forgotten." He turned, his dark robes billowing as he began to walk toward the edge of the cliff. "Let us return to the Underworld. There is much to be done."

A distant rumble of thunder echoed, a reminder of the fading tempest. Persephone placed a gentle hand on Hades's arm. "Then we must prepare, mustn't we?"
