Chapter 47
C47 – Ke Shuyi Became a Cripple
Under the watchful eyes of the crowd, Pei Yu approached Ke Shuyi with the menacing presence of a devil incarnate.
Ke Shuyi’s friend had just been killed in the blink of an eye.
What was Pei Yu going to do with Ke Shuyi?
As Pei Yu advanced, Ke Shuyi shuddered uncontrollably, his eyes brimming with hopelessness.
A torrent of fear, shock, and a myriad of emotions overwhelmed him, driving him to his knees.
He couldn’t contain himself any longer. Pei Yu was a figure of sheer terror, a veritable demon!
“Pei Yu, I was wrong. Please, have mercy on me.”
“I’m done opposing you. I’ll stop bothering you, and I won’t show my face around you again. Just let me go, please.”
Ke Shuyi’s pride was gone, replaced by desperate pleas as he repeatedly bowed his head, begging for his life.
If he didn’t plead, he knew his life would be forfeit.
Pei Yu advanced slowly, towering over the younger brother of his ex-wife.
“Rest assured, the Ke family once did me a favor. I won’t kill you,” Pei Yu stated icily. Despite the chill in his voice, his assurance was a lifeline to Ke Shuyi.
It was as if he had glimpsed a ray of hope amidst the darkness, and he exhaled a deep breath of relief. “Thank you, brother-in-law,” he said, attempting to curry favor through their past connection.
But Pei Yu’s next words struck Ke Shuyi like a bolt from the blue, sending a wave of despair crashing over him.
“I won’t kill you; I’ll just leave you in a vegetative state. How could I possibly let you die?”
Hearing this, Ke Shuyi was petrified. He looked up at Pei Yu, his body shaking as if he had plunged into an icy abyss.
“You were once my brother-in-law.”
Yet, no matter how much he struggled, Pei Yu was relentless. As Ke Shuyi looked up, Pei Yu struck him across the face.
Ke Shuyi’s body went rigid; the thought of escape didn’t even cross his mind.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
Escape was futile. There was no getting away!
This was the Super Martial Club, where even Master Zheng deferred to Pei Yu. Ke Shuyi stood no chance of escape.
How could he possibly escape from Pei Yu, a Grandmaster?
He despised himself. He should never have crossed Lin Xiu, nor should he have tangled with Pei Yuner.
With a single palm strike from Pei Yu, Ke Shuyi was slammed to the ground.
It felt like being run over by a massive truck, his bones shattered and meridians severed.
Ke Shuyi’s final cry echoed before silence took him.
Fulfilling Pei Yu’s intent, Ke Shuyi was left in a vegetative state, with no hope of awakening in this lifetime.
He was now condemned to a bedridden existence, a life of disability.
With the last vestiges of consciousness, Ke Shuyi raged internally. He longed to curse Pei Yu, to beg for death, but his strength had deserted him.
His heart was filled with remorse. His existence was now a torment worse than death, inflicted by Pei Yu.
Upon witnessing Pei Yu’s ruthless display, another friend of Ke Shuyi’s succumbed to fear and fainted outright.
Pei Yu’s ferocity knew no bounds.
One life lost, another forever marred. Even in the presence of society’s elite, Pei Yu showed no restraint.
He was a figure of pure terror.
“I no longer wish to see these individuals,” Pei Yu stated coolly.
The staff of the Super Martial Club promptly heeded Pei Yu’s wishes, swiftly removing Ke Shuyi and the fainted man from the premises, discarding them outside the club.
The Ke family members were aghast at the sight of the battered Ke Shuyi cast out before them.
“What happened to Shuyi?” they exclaimed in shock.
