Chapter 371 A part of his test
The demon and Nessa looked at each other and he shrugged and she was about to approach the balcony when someone knocked on the door and he opened it then saw it was a servant and he was panting.
"What's the matter?" The demon asked.
"There has been an attack," He responded and Nessa's brows furrowed as he left, then she rushed out of the room and the demon followed her.
"What the hell is going on?" She mumbled and the demon glanced at her.
When they arrived at the entrance of the castle, they went outside to where the others were and Nessa saw that there was smoke in the air and she glanced at the king.
"What's going on?" She asked and he looked at her and at the same time, the ones who were selected as the candidates, rushed off with a few knights by their sides and some that were with the council went with them as well.
"Something is going on at the edge of the city," The king responded and her eyes narrowed.
'Is it them?' She wondered as she looked up in the air then sighed and the king placed his hand on her shoulder and she glanced at him.
"Relax," He said with a slight smile on his face and she tilted her head.
"Don't tell me..." The demon mumbled and both he and Nessa sighed at the same time and the kung stared at them.
"You two had the same reaction, that was nice, also you are thinking right but I am going to need you to stay quiet until this is finished," He said and they looked at him and Nessa's brows furrowed.
"A test, that's it?" Nessa asked and the king grinned as he looked at her.
"I did tell you there something is going to happen today, didn't I?" He asked and she exhaled deeply.
"Yeah, you did tell me that, but do you mind explaining to us for a bit?" She asked and he nodded.
"Citizens, children, some of their own are in danger, they have to think and act like a leader would, understand and handle the situation, I want to see how much they can do at the same time if they are put in a pinch," He responded as he glanced at Nessa.
"Do you understand?" He asked and she sighed.
"Yeah, I understand very well, things like these tend to bring out different sides when you put someone in a tight position," She responded and he nodded.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
"I hope you are not using real things for this," She said and he smiled, nervously and her brows furrowed.
"You are, aren't you?" The demon asked and the king looked at him.
"In a way, the men are mine as are the beats," He responded.
"More details, your highness," The demon said as he stepped forward and Nessa glanced at him, without saying anything.
"All right, I will give you more details, some are knights, they are wearing masks and there are a few beast tamers among them, so I used that to do this and a few other things to make it more real," He replied and the demon sighed.

"I see, then as long as they have good control over their pets," The demon said.
"That and no innocent gets hurt, I think it will be just fine unless the candidates see through it," Nessa added and the demon nodded as the king smiled at them and Nessa looked at him.
"What is it?" She asked.
"I just think it's sort of cute," He responded.
"What is?" The demon asked and the king sighed.
"It's nothing, you two just leave it be, let's just watch and see what happens now, we have to do a proper analysis of this situation," He responded as they exited the castle yard and a few carriages came and they got in them then headed to the edge of the city which was also near the entrance.
As they were heading there, Nessa peeked out of the window and her eyes narrowed, when she saw that they had begun fighting and there were only a few people within the area which was being so-called attacked.
'His plan is well laid out, that's for sure but I still hope that nothing happens,' She thought before bracing her head back and the demon glanced at her.
"You don't think it will go well?" He asked and she looked at him.
"I can't say for sure, so far it seems to be going fine but from what I can see from here, some of their priorities are not what it's supposed to be," She responded even though the king was there with them and he smiled at her, since he was glad that she was being honest.
"I can see that from here as well, seems like some of them still lack a few things, I don't even feel like doing another test, just choose but I guess it would be sort of unfair huh?" He asked and she smiled at him.
"You are a kind and just person from my perspective, you will make the right decision, they have to accept it, whatever it may be," She responded.
"I appreciate your kind words, kid, so it's the follow your heart and don't ignore your instincts thing as well, huh?" He asked with a smile and she scoffed.
"You can say a little of that," She responded and the demon glanced at her as the carriage came to a halt and the king opened the door then they exited and Nessa looked at what was going on.
"Well, I hope you have at least a few people watching this situation closely," Nessa said and the king chuckled.
"Yeah, of course, I do," He replied as some of the candidates fought off those in the masks as well as the beasts, while trying to protect the innocent civilians behind them and when Nessa saw the few that were doing that, she smiled at them as did the king.
Just then, both Nessa as well as the demon picked up on something else at the same time, Nessa's brows furrowed as she looked around and the demon's eyes narrowed.
