"Little aunt, weren't you going to talk about serious matters?" Tian Xin really couldn't stand it and reminded from the side.

It was then that Tian Xun let go of Lin Shen, smiling as he said, "Ah Shen, Wei Wufu must be the one who sent you the Ascension Egg, right? When do you plan on ascending?"

"I've already ascended," Lin Shen answered.

"When did you ascend? How come I didn't know?" Tian Xin asked in surprise and confusion.

"You never asked me; there's nothing odd about not knowing," said Lin Shen indifferently.

"What sort of Life Base did you get?" Tian Xun asked with a smile.

Lin Shen took out the Inheritance Fan, which without being opened, looked like a strange short staff, wide at one end and narrow at the other, and not very eye-catching.

Lin Shen didn't mind them looking, as the Inheritance Fan could not be opened usually, only when using its Base Talent Fan Dance could it be unfolded.

"Quite ordinary," Tian Xin snorted coldly.

Lin Shen ignored him, his thoughts moved, and the Inheritance Fan was activated, spinning a few circles in the air.

Seeing the Ascension version of the Angel Revolver, Tian Xin gritted his teeth so hard they nearly cracked, his heart almost bursting with rage: "No wonder the little aunt didn't mention giving me an Angel Revolver, it was given to you. You damned pretty boy, it's just infuriating."

Tian Xin decided to give Lin Shen a real surprise, to let him know how formidable he was.

"Don't say I didn't warn you, my Heartless Angel has reached the Fourth Turn," Tian Xin directly summoned the Heartless Angel.

The Heartless Angel looked much cooler than the Inheritance Fan, and on Tian Xin's command, its Angel's Wings on the back vibrated, transforming into a black streamer that rushed towards Lin Shen.

Lin Shen didn't throw the Inheritance Fan since it had that Inheritance Evolution Skill on it, which wasn't good to show to others.

Seeing that Lin Shen intended to block the attack of the Heartless Angel with the fan only, a cunning light flashed in Tian Xin's eyes.

The Heartless Angel, just about to reach Lin Shen, suddenly transformed into countless black feathers like a rain of arrows from the sky, covering Lin Shen densely.

This was a new method that Tian Xin had just thought up to utilize the Heartless Angel, and Lin Shen happened to be the perfect live target for him to make eat his own medicine.

Lin Shen was surprised in his heart; he really had not expected that the Heartless Angel could also be used in such a manner.

"This Tian Xin is really unlucky. If he used this move on someone else, it would surely be extraordinarily effective. But it just so happened to be up against my Inheritance Fan, so I'm afraid that's too bad..." Lin Shen felt a pang of sorrow for Tian Xin in his heart.

He flicked his wrist holding the fan, and the Inheritance Fan opened with a swoosh.

The side imprinted with the Inheritance Evolution Skill faced Lin Shen's own chest, invisible to others.

The opened Inheritance Fan, like a Peacock Display, not only splayed out the fan bones but also produced white light as radiant as peacock feathers at the tip of each rib. From a distance, it looked like a white peacock had opened its light display, shielding Lin Shen in front of him.

The black feathers transformed by the Heartless Angel struck the light screen like a violent storm but, incredibly, were unable to penetrate it.

The fan in Lin Shen's hand spun, forcibly blocking all the black feathers. For a time, the sound of clinking and clanking collision echoed nonstop in the hall, but ultimately not a single black feather could penetrate the light screen.

The futile black feathers then coalesced back into the black-armored Heartless Angel in the air.

Lin Shen gave his palm a shake and the light on the Inheritance Fan retracted, the fan bones closing too, reverting to its rod-like appearance, and he casually toyed with it in his hand.

The first move of the Fan Dance, "Open", could release the feathers of light while opening the Inheritance Fan. Although the light feathers could not detach from the Inheritance Fan, their own strength was exceedingly high, able to withstand destructive forces, equivalent to twice the hardness and toughness of the Inheritance Fan itself.

Of course, this move was not just for defense. It could also be used for attack; however, since the light feathers did not enhance speed or strength, they could not boost attack power or speed. Nonetheless, for defense, they were more than sufficient.

Chi Ba's Life Base is the Thunder God, possessing a wide-range attack-type Base Talent, which can easily blast people out of the range of Chessboard Island.

Lin Shen didn't decline; after all, they had been mooching off Paradise Island for free—it wouldn't do for them to do nothing in return.

"After this matter is resolved, I plan to send you and Tian Xin to Sky Pinnacle Star together," Tian Xun suddenly added.

"What for?" Lin Shen was puzzled; he only knew that Sky Pinnacle Star was the home star of the Celestial Race.

"Above Sky Pinnacle Star, there is an Ascension Pool. The Base Mutation Pool you used before, the technology comes from emulating the Ascension Pool. I'm sending you to Sky Pinnacle Star in hopes you can secure the qualifications to enter the Ascension Pool. With the help of the Ascension Pool, your Life Bases can quickly reach high turns.

If you're lucky, the Ascension Pool should be able to enhance your Life Base to around the Seventh Turn," he explained.

After a pause, Tian Xun spoke seriously, "The Ascension Pool can not only help your Life Bases quickly evolve, but it is also greatly beneficial for your eventual Nirvana."
