Davis's eyes flickered with joy. He felt it had been a long time since he saw her since she was cooped up researching for him. It was only three weeks, but so many things happened. He felt bad, quickly walked towards her, and gave a full, warm hug and a soft smooch to her cheek.

Myria smiled, "Glad to see you're back safely."

"Yes, I will always return without fail."

Davis chuckled before he hugged Tina and Dalila as well. The way they were smiling appeared as though they had good news, but he didn't ask. He first made them sit along with the others and informed them of Mingzhi and Lea's pregnancies.

Needless to say, they were shocked and full of well wishes.

As alchemists, they knew numbers the best, and comprehending the chances of this happening was extremely lucky.

"How wonderful~" Tina beamed, "Nadia would soon give birth within two weeks, and Fiora is due in a month. Iesha's is a bit difficult to pinpoint, but she would give birth in three or five months. Spirits are born quickly, but she has a human-spirit child, and each spirit race is different. As for Mingzhi and Lea, if they time it right, they can deliver together in eight months. Now, I need to get everything on my own or rely on my friend Esvele, but she can't take care of everything even if she's the head maid. Also, if she's the head maid, she needs some maids under her."

"You have a point." Davis nodded before he turned to look at everyone, "However, let's be a bit pragmatic. I don't want anyone else within my mansion other than the people I approve of. Esvele is special in the notion that she already knows what betraying is like, and she wouldn't do it again, even if it costs her life. I personally vetted her, or I wouldn't even allow her near Shirley. Can anyone bring such a person into this family?"

"…" Shirley and the others could only blink.

From the refugees to allies, they had many candidates in mind and could choose from a vast amount of personnel, but they couldn't say if they would have the Davis Family's best interests at heart.

They had been with Esvele and talked to her many times since she served them on a daily basis, so they already possessed a lot of trust in her. But other maids?

The reason why they never uttered a word about maids was that they were careful that Davis might fall prey to an innocent-acting maid or if that maid would slowly enter his heart through patient or devious means. That wasn't good, in their opinion.

"I'd be willing to be a maid."

However, she was choosing to be a maid? He really didn't expect it since he thought she would ultimately end up with the Reaper Soul Legion.

Illumina cupped her hands and bowed, "Before I became a palace guard, I did everything from cleaning to cooking for Glenda back then, so I am well versed in taking care of domestic jobs. "Alright, if you want to try being a maid, I wouldn't say no. I trust you."

They pulled Davis to the side and discussed it with him.

"You- what are you saying? I know you saved Illumina, and I know of her loyal character, but she's too strong, and there are kids here. Just a single wave of undulation could kill them."

Davis reached out his hand and caressed Viridia's head. She was in Evelynn's embrace, quietly snuggling as she surveyed her surroundings and kept an eye on.

"I guess so." He took back his hand and nodded, "But I don't think Illumina will harm them. I know you're all worried about her bloodthirsty past, so give her a chance. If you don't like it, I won't say otherwise. This is the mansion, and the Harem Council has all the right to change and demand how they want to live."

"However, I won't allow individual maids for each and every one of you as I'm aware they can possibly utter words that damage our relationship and put strange thoughts in your heads, even if it isn't their intention. In this case, I don't need to be worried about Illumina since she wouldn't do such a thing. She is not the type to chit-chat or spread rumors. She is serious, even more than Esvele."
